  • 25% of Hispanic/Latino families live in poverty (Mental Health America, 2019)
  • Prevalence of mental health conditions is similar to the overall population (NAMI, 2019)
  • Hispanics/Latinos under utilize specialty mental services (Cabassa, Zayas, & Hansen, 2006)
  • Bilingual patients are evaluated differently in English vs. Spanish
  • Hispanics/Lationos are under-treated compared to non-Hispanic whites
  • Females are more prone to suicide thinking than males (MHA, 2019)
